Founded in 2013 by Madgalena Riley, Dorothy Overbey, and Sara Paul, Austin Community Ballet is an organization of professional and advanced dancers who teach ballet class for one another. All are welcome!
ACB classes are ‘teach-take’ - meaning the teacher gives the combinations and also dances. Teachers share insights and wisdom - they talk about what they are working on in their own practice, but the class is not ‘taught’ in a traditional way. ACB teachers are professional dancers who hail from many different companies and schools from around the world, and the classes represent a broad diversity of ballet training styles. All teachers are volunteer (because they get to take class too, that’s the whole idea!).
